The Smart Car

The Smart Fortwo is currently the smallest vehicle available in our market and is a two seater as its name suggests.  It gets a combined fuel rating of 5.3L per 100 kms. Models 2008 or newer run on a 3 cylinder, 70 horsepower gas engine, while models 2007 or older use CDI diesel engine.

The Fortwo is made by Mercedes-Benz, who are known for making safe vehicles, and they did not skip on the safety features or technologies for the Smart, given its small size. The Smart Fortwo features traditional safety features such as anti-lock brakes and airbags (including side air bags) as standard, but it also had a tridon safety cell which keeps the Smart’s structure intact.

Safety has been the main public concern since its introduction to the public, but the US National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) has given the Smart a 4/5 star rating for frontal impact crash tests and 5/5 stars for side impact crash tests. Mercedes-Benz has even crashed a Smart Fortwo head on with its full size S-Class sedan to prove the safety of the Smart.
